Christmas at Sugarloaf

Happy New Year! I'm back in the office and finally ready to update Alice's blog! This is installment #1 of our two week Christmas break. The VT section will be coming soon...

We had a terrific time in Maine. Luckily we didn't have to battle any difficult weather on the roads this year. Mother nature allowed us a safe trip up to Sugarloaf and then dumped a ton of snow on us! Alice loved the sledding around on the pond and really enjoyed her cat nap while on her father's back while snowshoeing. It was fun to enjoy the outdoors with our little munchkin!

Alice was a little confused by the presence of her two cousins. She seemed to get extra clinging when they were crawling around the floor. But they figured things out and Alice even got a push in the wagon from Lauren! Was a funny role reversal to see little Lauren (who is just getting steady on her feet) push her older cousin, and very happily at that!

Alice also had to warm up to both of the dogs up at the cabin. Both dogs were very tolerant of her petting, grabbing and poking. She learned very quickly to tell Austin "NO" when it was meal time. She also found a pretty comfortable tv viewing spot one evening. Terra was surprisingly fine with this arrangement!

This last picture was really funny. I was taking a picture of Alice and Reeves working on a puzzle and when she realized that I was taking pictures, she stood up and put her hand around her Dad and smiled at the camera! I guess she picked up on posing for the camera over the break!

All in all, we had a great break! We were happy to finish it off with a nice weekend at home, where Alice could really enjoy all of her new toys! Thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable and enjoyable holiday!

  1. So adorable! We loved our time with you in VT! Glad you had a good time in Maine too! But one question...why is Reeves doing all the work, i.e. pulling the sled, carrying Alice in the pack?
