Birthdays and more!
Alice and I had a fancy tea party a little while ago. I got dressed up and Alice put on her jewelry! It was quite a sophisticated social engagement!
Stirring the tea so that it's "just right"
Michelle was so nice and gave Alice her first birthday present of the year about a week early. Alice was pretty excited!
Card first - present second!
Wait - let me move my baby aviators to see if it's true...could it really be...it is! BUBBLES!
Alice and Dana are playing together much more these days. Dana was crawling after Alice as she did laps around the house last night. Alice thought that was the most hysterical thing ever! And here, Dana is showing us just how much she wants to pull up and stand. Sisters are great for propping up!
Alice was not very thrilled with this arrangement. I can just hear her saying, "No thank you, Dana! No thank you!"
Ahhh...sweet victory!
Love that two tooth smile!
Birthday time!

Weekend FUN!
We had a great weekend in CT. Gumma and Grandma Net came down for Paul's funeral and so we were able to visit with them a bit. They even gave me and Reeves Saturday night to go out to dinner!! We had nice time out and we assume (big assumption) that they enjoyed the time alone with the girls. Here are some pics from their visit.
You can tell just how much Dana's hair is starting to grow. She is a little fur ball right now. Sooo cute...
After Gumma and Net left for VT, we all went out for a walk in the woods. Alice enjoys these walks as they are great opportunity to pick up rocks, throw sticks into puddles and walk in the mud.
Here she is kissing the rock that she picked up! ugh!
Dana and Dad - Dana assuming her relaxed, lean to the left, pre-nap back pack position. Look at those cheeks!
Sunday was a gorgeous day. We played outside in the front lawn for a bit. It was a really nice afternoon with the girls!
Cruisin' on the skuut!
Lots of coloring on the driveway. Our favorite thing was drawing butterflies and writing our names!
Maybe she'll follow in her sister's book loving footsteps after all!
Not sure Reeves would have approved of this arrangement. It was short lived. Alice doesn't have a very smooth pushing technique, causing a bit of discomfort for the wagon rider!
Here we are at the end of the driveway. The lines behind Alice are the "do not cross" lines. She's pretty good about not going beyond this boundary - at least she was that day!
What a muffin!
While we were hanging at the end of the driveway, we heard the ice cream truck turn into the neighborhood across the street. We grabbed some cash and walked over. Alice was cautious of the truck (she stood about 10 feet away) but LOVED the popsicle she got! It was a terrific weekend!

Cousin Fun!
We had lots of cousin fun this weekend when Ryan and Lauren came to visit! They were troopers - they came all the way from Maine to sit through a Trinity lacrosse game and spend the night at our house. Alice loved having her cousins hang out. It provided lots of excitement in the driveway on Sunday morning as we had Ryan going back and forth between about 3 different sports and Lauren and Alice splitting time on the tricycle.
Alice's hair after missing a bath or two due to a very busy week!! That's a pretty ratty head of hair!
Relaxin' with Dad - probably watching Bambi!
Dana loves peas!
Alice is smiling for the camera with her new head band on from Remer! THANKS REMER!
Feeling pretty special...
This week is theme week at school. This is my attempt to be a good mom and actually follow the theme of the day. As you might guess - this was crazy hair day!
Alice loved having braids! She keeping swinging her head to feel the braids flip. She even requested them this morning. I denied her request. Not a good mom.
Dana wanted in on the crazy hair day fun. She loved it!
My sweet little girl gave us a big present this morning when she slept until 7am! She has consistently been waking up between 5 and 5:30 for the last several weeks. She really capped things off yesterday when she woke up at 4:30 - that's right 4:30AM!! As you can imagine, I nearly wept with joy when I woke up on my OWN this morning at 6:30am. Hoping this is a sign of things to come!
