She's ONE (and then some...)!

So Alice has had an eventful couple of weeks. We went to Vermont to have an early birthday celebration with all the VT relatives! It was a hot few days but tons and tons of fun. We had lots of pool time and a little bit of cake too!

The first cupcake (BEFORE...)

AFTER!!

On Alice's REAL birthday we were excited to drop her off at daycare so she could celebrate with her buddies at Trinity. That was not to be, as we discovered the night before her bday that she had spiked a fever. After being under the weather for her birthday, we visited the doctor the following day for her 1 year check up. We then discovered, not only did she have a fever, she had a mild case of croup and a bad ear infection in her left ear. YIKES! For a girl who hadn't been sick much in the first year of her life, she sure made up for it!

The real birthday (she wouldn't even eat her cupcake!)

Check out those shades! Thanks Rob and Joanne!

Alice couldn't go to daycare at all last week but is happy to be back today. She is now on a two day/week schedule, going on Tuesday and Thursdays. I'm loving the extra time with Alice, although a week straight with no daycare and a sick girl was a little exhausting!

Birthday present from Michelle. Her very own cell phone!

She LOVES it!

All is well (at last!). Reeves wraps up with school this week. We are excited for summer!

Random Pics

Hi Everyone! Yes, Alice still exists...despite not updating the blog she is growing and changing all the time. Almost immediately following her crawling, she began pulling herself up on everything and walking while holding on to the wall, the couch, the table, etc. She now can CRUISE up the stairs which is pretty frightening. We are baby proofing like crazy and are just barely able to keep her from really staying out of trouble.

The season came to an end on Sunday, unfortunately. I am, however, very excited to start to spend my days with Alice as she approaches her 1st birthday. No plans for the occasion yet but we are excited about this milestone.

Here are some random shots of her. I can't get over her camera face. She is too funny.

Fun with the Grandparents!

We had a great time this weekend with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Carolyn! They drove right down to CT after flying in from their exotic Antigua vacation only a few hours earlier. It was a great chance for Alice to show off her crawling ability and her developing speech! She talked almost non-stop. We had a nice birthday breakfast with Grandma Carolyn on Sunday morning before Ken and Carolyn returned to VT for the week. We are looking forward to their return this weekend along with the Quinns!

The next two photos capture Alice's camera face (she lifts her head up so much you can almost see the top front teeth coming in). Anytime she sees the green light come on, she gets a silly grin on her face and sticks her chin out! It's hysterical and crazy how consistent she is with this reaction - she does it everytime! Hope these give you a sense of how ridiculous it looks...

It's exhausting to be this cute!

It's official! She's a crawler!

We had a very eventful weekend! Alice officially crawled on Friday night, moving forward several steps to reach the wood floor. It was VERY exciting as we had observed her attempting to crawl all week, but only achieving a backwards move to a sitting position. We wondered whether she would remember how she put her crawl moves together the next day, but she had no problem picking up where she left off. She is now on the move and quite difficult to keep up with. Check out the clip below!

We enjoyed a great Easter weekend with Chris and Sue. They were on Alice duty while I had my game and Reeves had his tennis match. It was a gorgeous day and Alice loved being outside in the BOB and playing with her taggies blanket. She was quite a trooper! I forgot my camera in the office all weekend so I have no pictures from easter but the easter bunny did visit (thanks to grandma sue)and Alice loved the easter egg she received!

Here are a few pictures from today. She is wearing an outfit courtesy of the Irvines (Caite is a junior on the lax team). She is so stylish - those are tapered jeans!!

Much Love to all!
