Fun with the Grandparents!

We had a great time this weekend with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Carolyn! They drove right down to CT after flying in from their exotic Antigua vacation only a few hours earlier. It was a great chance for Alice to show off her crawling ability and her developing speech! She talked almost non-stop. We had a nice birthday breakfast with Grandma Carolyn on Sunday morning before Ken and Carolyn returned to VT for the week. We are looking forward to their return this weekend along with the Quinns!

The next two photos capture Alice's camera face (she lifts her head up so much you can almost see the top front teeth coming in). Anytime she sees the green light come on, she gets a silly grin on her face and sticks her chin out! It's hysterical and crazy how consistent she is with this reaction - she does it everytime! Hope these give you a sense of how ridiculous it looks...

It's exhausting to be this cute!

It's official! She's a crawler!

We had a very eventful weekend! Alice officially crawled on Friday night, moving forward several steps to reach the wood floor. It was VERY exciting as we had observed her attempting to crawl all week, but only achieving a backwards move to a sitting position. We wondered whether she would remember how she put her crawl moves together the next day, but she had no problem picking up where she left off. She is now on the move and quite difficult to keep up with. Check out the clip below!

We enjoyed a great Easter weekend with Chris and Sue. They were on Alice duty while I had my game and Reeves had his tennis match. It was a gorgeous day and Alice loved being outside in the BOB and playing with her taggies blanket. She was quite a trooper! I forgot my camera in the office all weekend so I have no pictures from easter but the easter bunny did visit (thanks to grandma sue)and Alice loved the easter egg she received!

Here are a few pictures from today. She is wearing an outfit courtesy of the Irvines (Caite is a junior on the lax team). She is so stylish - those are tapered jeans!!

Much Love to all!

10 months old TODAY!

We had a great visit from Aunt Kristi on Monday. She drove all the way up from Philly just to spend the afternoon and evening with us. It was great to see her and Alice loved the extra attention! Here is a nice shot of the happy pair!

Alice is 10 months-old today which is so hard to believe!! It doesn't seem possible that she is closing in on a year. We are reminded everyday just how much she is progressing with the new sounds she makes (dah-dah-dah and mah-mah-mah!) and by her mobility. She is on the cusp of crawling and depending on your definition she could be considered a crawler already! She can crawl several steps backwards and then gets herself into a sitting position. She has crawled forward only slightly (although I thought I caught her making 3 or 4 movements forward today). It's very exciting, although, I think Reeves wouldn't mind if she held off another month (until after the lacrosse season) before getting really proficient moving around the house!

She loves her texture book! She flips through it almost everyday!

She is on the move! WATCH OUT!!!

New Playroom!

This weekend we took some time to put together a new playroom for Alice. Reeves found a great play mat that we put down in the room right off the kitchen. I found lots of little toys to fill the room yesterday and judging by the pictures Alice loves it! It's especially convenient to have her nearby when we are trying to get things done in the kitchen. We are wishing everyone a great week!

Weekend in Maine

Hi Everyone! Here are a few picks from last weekend, when we scooted up to Maine for a long weekend. We were so excited to meet Lauren and Ryan for the first time (Alice is a whooping 3x her cousins' size!). It was also great to see Nini before she left for her spring trip down south. We had a very relaxing visit - much needed on the heels of a busy preseason!!

(this is the face that alice puts on for the camera! she really likes to ham it up!)

This is a picture of Alice in her new rain jacket. She is getting so big! She had her 9 month appointment last week. She weighed in at 19lbs 1oz and had pretty good stats. She is in the 50 percentile for weight and height and 95 percentile for head size! We are experimenting with some new foods and textures with her meals. She seems to eat anything that's dipped in yogurt or applesauce!

Cheers!

Picture Day (part II)

Just back from feeding Alice lunch and apparently the pictures didn't go well. She didn't like having a stranger take her picture at all! Apparently she went into hysterics both times they tried. So, I guess we won't be having a professional pictures of her just yet! Funny girl...

Picture Day!

Hi Everyone! Alice is waving hello and wishing you a great Tuesday! Today is picture day at daycare and Alice is wearing her pink and green sweater from Grandma Carolyn with matching hat. I couldn't resist getting a picture of her before leaving for school. She was so accommodating, she even waved at the camera! It's her favorite thing to do these days. It was sort of new as of last week but now every time someone walks in the door at daycare, she starts waving! It's SO cute!
