You Tube of Alice Laughing!

Since I've had trouble uploading videos directly to the blogger site I decided to try YouTube. This is from last night. Alice laughed for the first time! She was so giggly. It was so cool. Hope you enjoy!

Sleepy Alice

It's been a fairly low key week for Alice. She fought off a little cold early in the week. She basically slept all day Tuesday (other than when she had a visitor) and then slept a ton on Tuesday evening.

She had a nice visit with her Grandma Carolyn on Tuesday as Grandma passed through CT on her way to New York. Alice played in her jumperoo and showed off her sweet bouncing skills!

After sleeping a lot this week, Alice had a terrific report from daycare on Thursday. It seems that she is becoming much more independent in entertaining herself. Reeves and I are also thankful that she seems to be sleeping much better in her crib. She just took a two hour nap there earlier today. She is also learning to put herself to sleep rather than having to pass out in our arms before hitting the crib. We feel like these little changes are pretty significant as she grows before our eyes.

In slightly different news, I start back at Trinity next week so that should be interesting! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Long Weekend

It was a wonderful weekend here in CT for Alice. We had a terrific day of cheering on our favorite sports teams, watching the field hockey team beat Conn. College in the morning and then watching the KO girls soccer team tie Suffield in the afternoon. Alice slept through the field hockey game but loved the tailgate (like any good fan!).

On Sunday, Aunt Kristi drove up from Philly to hang out for the day since she didn't have school on Monday. Alice showed her Aunt her recent tricks, like holding her tongue with her fingers, making bubbles and obviously lots of smiles! She even took a nap on her Aunt's shoulder. I think they both had a blast!

Kristi left early on Monday and we decided to keep Alice with us fro the day, rather than take her into daycare. We had a wonderful walk in the morning. We were able to make use of Alice's pumpkin hat from the Bowie's. She received several compliments - it was pretty cute!

Alice is looking forward to spending tomorrow morning with Auntie Anne while her mom has to refresh her CPR skills for a few hours. Should be lots of fun for the APs!Alice can get pretty animated when she's excited!

Four Month Milestone

This week Alice had her 4-month check up with her pediatrician. She is doing well - basically in the 75 percentile for height and weight. She's now a whopping 13lbs 11oz and measuring 24 inches long. She had another round of shots that she took very well. She seems to be quite a tough little girl. I spent a lot of time talking with her doctor about her eating and sleeping habits. We are going to begin supplementing her with some formula to up her daily calorie intake. We are also attempting to be more strict about her sleeping in her crib as opposed to her beloved bouncy seat. So far so good. She cried for a bit on Wednesday night but was actually much better last night. We are hopeful that this is a quick fix but time will tell!

Alice had an excellent week at daycare. Her teachers commented on her cuddly nature and smiley disposition in her daily report. She seems to be developing a nice relationship with the other baby, Liam, as they both like to stare at one another. It's very cute. Alice is also much easier to drop off, not getting fussy at all when I leave (or at least not soon enough for me to know!). I was quite impressed that on Monday, after a week of not being a daycare, when we arrived she was as smiley as ever. Clearly she is enjoying this social time.

These pictures are from our morning today. We had a chance to make use of her matching sweater and hat (a great hand-me-down from Isabel!) since it was a little chilly this morning. Her walks at daycare and at home seem to always result in a nap. Here is a before and after!

We are looking forward to the weekend. We are planning on attending a few games tomorrow, cheering on Trinity Field Hockey in the morning and then KO soccer in the afternoon. Hopefully the weather cooperates!

Alice Bouncing

As I mentioned in a previous post, Alice loves her new bouncy seat upgrade (thanks Aunt Katie and Uncle Nick!). We were experimenting with the video option with the new camera and here is a short clip. We'll have more up soon!
